The University of law students' Union

Although full-time 'employees' of the university/SU, the Co-Presidents are first and foremost the elected leadership for students. With support from SU Staff, they work hard to represent students' voices at university committees, organise new activities and events, and run engaging campaigns.

My manifesto:

  • Represent academic interests of fellow students on all campuses to ensure that communication between students and staff is open and effective.
  • Work to achieve better communication between the administration and students to ensure processes are streamlined.
  • Support international students to navigate systems that may seem confusing at first.
  • Work to create a campus environment that champions students’ mental health and  well-being  where students students feel empowered to access support freely.

We'll be sharing a little bit more about Jana and her work soon!

My manifesto:

  • Furthering the course of the students’ union independence by ensuring adherence to agreed timelines by the Development Steering Group (DSG) towards actualising the Students’ Union match to independence.

  • Building on introduced communication initiatives to ensure gaps are identified and addressed promptly towards enhancing student communication experience.

  • Fostering community and connections by organising more student-focused events in collaboration with students and staff members of the university.

  • Student welfarism centred on addressing the impact of the rising cost of living on students through such initiatives as the student pantry.
